The Coastal Kings FC dropped their first home match of the season on September 20, falling 1–2 to SCU Heat. The Kings came out aggresive putting pressure on the Mid Atlantic powerhouse early. Nearly finding the back of the net twice before the end of the first half. Early in the second half Heat struck first with a goal off a corner. It didn't take long for the home team to answer with a goal off a corner as well. Shortly after the Kings were on the hunt for a second but rattled a shot off the cross bar and had a controversial offside goal called back. Heat got a late goal for the win and the result leaves the Kings in a three-way tie for second place with Charleston United and Soda City. The Kings now turn their attention north as they travel to face Pre-College Development Academy on Sunday, September 28.
