Following Week 1 Team of the Week nominations, which included Waswa Drajoru, Hector Hernandez, and JJ Stein, the momentum has not slowed heading into Week 2, it has expanded.

In a continuation of that early success, Coastal Kings FC has now seen a total of nine players across both squads nominated for Team of the Week honors, reinforcing the strength and depth of the club from top to bottom.

On the Kings II side, the impact extends beyond the initial three selections. While Drajoru, Hernandez, and Stein set the standard with their performances against Ocala, Ahmed Abdalla has now joined them among those recognized, giving Kings II four players nominated from the Florida North Division 1 pool. Abdalla’s inclusion reflects the broader influence within the squad, not just in moments of final product, but in the work between the lines. His presence, consistency, and ability to connect phases of play have been key in maintaining control and balance for a side that has shown maturity beyond its early stage. Together, the Kings II group continues to establish itself as more than just a developmental side, it is a competitive unit capable of dictating matches and producing standout individual performances within a collective structure.

At the first team level, the recognition has been just as strong. Six players, Shannon Blake, Murilo Lara, Zack Hargreaves, Souleyman Dieng, Johan Merchant, and Miguel Romero, have all been nominated for Team of the Week honors. The spread of names across multiple positions highlights a complete team performance, one driven by cohesion, discipline, and execution. From defensive stability to attacking movement, the Kings have shown an ability to manage games while remaining dangerous throughout. Hargreaves continues to lead with consistency and presence, Romero provides a new threat in advanced areas, Blake and Lara are consitently showcasing their talents and balance is offered by Dieng and Merchant in the defense.

What stands out most is not just the number, but what it represents. Nine players recognized in the opening stretch of the season signals a club that is aligned in its identity. The connection between Kings II and the First Team is clear, performances are translating, opportunities are being earned, and standards are being upheld across the entire organization. For a club still early in its journey, this level of recognition is more than a milestone, it is a marker of intent.

The Coastal Kings are not just finding form, they are setting a standard.
