FIVE (5)

Not one. Not two. Not three. Five.

That’s how many players from Coastal Kings FC II earned Team of the Week honors, a statement moment for a group that continues to rise inside the club’s system.

Waswa Drajoru, Murilo Lara, Jose Fernandez, Ismail Koita, and Steven Flores were all recognized, highlighting the depth, cohesion, and growing impact of the second team. And it didn’t stop there.

Head Coach David Koebler was also named to Team of the Week, rounding out a dominant showing for the Coastal Kings organization.

For a team still building its identity, this kind of recognition doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built in training. It’s built in competition. And it’s built in the standard set every single session.

Coach’s Notes – David Koebler: “Our second team improves every week. They train with the first team every session. There isn’t a training that is easy for them. They are always being challenged to grow and develop. We are very happy with this group, and it’s wonderful to see their success.”

That connection between the first team and Kings II is intentional. There’s no separation in expectation. No drop in intensity. The environment is designed to push players, to test them, and to prepare them for moments like this. And now, it’s showing.

When asked what it means to also receive a Team of the Week nomination as a coach, Koebler kept the focus where it’s always been.

“I love the Team of the Week award. I think it’s very valuable to reward individual player performance week in and week out. As a coach, it’s an honor, but my focus isn’t the accolades along the way, it’s the prize at the end of the journey.....The entire coaching staff at the club works hard to drive the boys toward the goals we set. Earning a spot in playoffs and performing to the best of our ability when we get there.....We want to bring a championship back to Savannah. Be it at the Premier level or the Division 1 level.....I’m thankful for the nod, but I'm chasing something bigger.”

Five players. One coach. One message. Kings II isn’t just developing.

They’re arriving.
