The Coastal Kings FC dropped their first home match of the season on September 20, falling 1–2 to league powerhouse SCU Heat.

Despite the loss, the Kings were unlucky not to come away with more. A shot rattled off the crossbar, and a Kings goal was called back on a controversial offside decision—later shown by video review to have been onside.

The result leaves the Kings in a three-way tie for second place with Charleston United and Soda City, all sitting close behind the leaders.

The Kings now turn their attention north as they travel to face Pre-College Development Academy on Sunday, September 28.
