“This is more than just another soccer team coming to Savannah. The arrival of a new UPSL franchise in Savannah highlights the city’s growing relationship with soccer. The Kings are committed to growing the game locally and forging community connections. The club intends to field teams that reflect the area’s talent, diversity and potential. This investment underscores the promise of meaningful engagement, expanded opportunities for youth, and economic benefits for local businesses.” – Kings owner David Koebler

The men’s side will compete in the Mid-Atlantic South Division of UPSL’s Premier League. The Premier League is a very competitive and robust league in the fourth tier of the U.S. professional soccer pyramid. Launched in 2011 the UPSL is the largest league in the professional pyramid comprised of over 300 teams. Teams compete in Fall and Spring divisional play for advancement to the UPSL National Championship series. Teams from the league also compete in the Historic Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. It has yet to be determined which league of play the women’s side of the club will compete, but club management hopes to secure franchise status for the women in the coming months.

“I love the idea that Savannah is going to have a presence in the UPSL. We have held regional matches for the UPSL there before. It’s a great city and representing Savannah is amazing”- UPSL VP Christian Vallejos.

“The foundation is in place to build a successful community-driven competitive soccer club: we have experienced and committed people involved, the region has a rich sports history and passion for soccer, the possibilities are endless.” Kings - Assistant Sporting Director Tom Walsh.

The Kings will share updates on branding, technical staff, investor additions and player signings in the coming months.
